Michael Bowers Pop Art
Come see familiar faces such as Jim Carrey, Mickey Mouse, Felix the Cat, Sonic the Hedgehog, Dr. Eggman, Charlie Brown, The Avengers, Captain America and more in this smorgasbord of pop art!

This is my artwork of some famous videogame characters created by SEGA. Displayed are Sonic the Hedgehog (the blue dude with the 'tude!), Miles "Tails" Prower (the fuzzy fox), Knuckles the ("Rad Red") Echidna, and Amy Rose, the pink love interest for Sonic. All characters are owned by SEGA.

This particular comic was penciled by artist Gleidson Araujo. I took the penciled drawing and added the inks digitally. You can see the original pencils at http://gleidsonaraujo.deviantart.com/art/Avengers-447921818. To see more of my inks, check out my Inks Page!

Here are the many faces of Mickey, ranging from cheerful to angry to sad to downright creepy! The art was originally drawn in my sketchbook. The inking and coloring were all done digitally.

Some more Sonic artwork by me. Brown Tails is an homage to the Sonic cartoons that aired in 1993.

Here's Felix the Cat, the wonderful, wonderful cat! Created by Otto Messmer and Pat Sullivan, he would wow the world with his antics in the 1920s. The Felix standing next to the bag of tricks is an homage to the 1950s Felix the Cat cartoons, as well as the 1991 movie. The Felix poses originally came from my sketchbook and were inked digitally.

This is page one Gleidson Araujo's fan art. It's based on Marvel's Ultimates series and features an appearance by Obama! Gleidson did the pencils while I supplied the inks. You can see the original pencils at http://gleidsonaraujo.deviantart.com/art/Ultimates-page-01-259253101.

The mustachioed human is Dr. Eggman, the main villain from the Sonic series. Also owned by SEGA.

Here are some more Sonic characters from both Archie Comics and Cookie Jar Entertainment (formerly DIC Entertainment). The red-headed squirrel Sally Acorn and her cyborg friend Bunny Rabbot appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog, an animated series that would share the same name with the comic series.

Here is Jim Carrey, rendered in the styles of Pablo Picasso, Hayao Miyazaki, Andy Warhol, and Jack Kirby!

This image and the next are part of a comic I made depicting the life of Charles Schulz, one of the most influential cartoonists who ever lived. It was displayed in the School of Visual Arts Chelsea Gallery in 2008.
